Trial and packages
How does the free trial work?
You get 30 days of everything in Business, free: 250 quotes and 10 logins. When the trial ends, choose the package you want to carry on with. Your quotes and customers stay where they are.
Do I need a card to sign up?
No. You sign up with your email address. You only set up payment if you choose a package after your trial.
How do I pay after the trial?
By a monthly bank standing order. The details are on your plan page in 4trades before your trial ends.
Using 4trades
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. 4trades runs in your phone’s browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app. It works on a computer or tablet too.
Does it handle VAT?
Yes. Choose 20% VAT or no VAT on each quote. You enter prices before VAT, and the quote, payment requests and final invoice show the VAT totals.
Will my quotes have my logo on them?
Yes. Add your logo and colours when you set up, and your quotes, invoices and signing page carry your brand.
Can I add extra work to a job that’s already signed?
Yes. Create an additional works quote linked to the job. Your customer signs it the same way, and it’s included in the final invoice.
What if a customer accepts on paper or over the phone?
Mark the quote as accepted yourself, and carry on with payments and invoicing as normal.
How long does setup take?
A few minutes. Add your trade, logo and colours, bank details and VAT, and you can make your first quote straight away.
Your team
Can my staff see my prices?
No. Staff can add site visits, photos and notes, but they never see prices, costs, your catalogue, invoices or signed documents. Only admins can.
How do I add my staff?
Invite them from Settings with a short join link, and choose Staff or Admin for each person. Pro includes 3 logins and Business includes 10.
Your customers
Do my customers need an account?
No. They open the link you send, read the quote and sign it. Nothing to download or sign up for.
Do customers get a copy of what they signed?
Yes. After signing they can download their signed copy, and the same copy is saved in 4trades for you.
